Key Responsibilities:
- Leading ecological services on strategic infrastructure and renewable energy projects, managing project programmes and budgets
- Proactively bringing in new business and growing a new ecology department including building a team
- Managing work enquiries, preparing bids and building client relationships
- Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder engagement
- Planning, co-ordinating and undertaking field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital
- Designing and co-ordinating ecological mitigation schemes
- Authoring and checking a range of ecological reports (Preliminary Ecological Appraisals/Ecological Impact Assessments/Appropriate Assessments & Natura Impact Statements/ Biodiversity Management Plans/Net Gain/Species Survey Reports/Management Plans)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
- Ideally 5 years relevant post qualification experience
- A degree in ecology
- Demonstrable excellent ecological knowledge
- Strong commercial skills to bring in new business
- Capability to undertake wide range of different species surveys and wide range of ecological reports
- A full, clean Ireland/UK/EU driving licence.
