Associate Director of Planning

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Salary: £45k+ per annum (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning services for strategic infrastructure and renewable energy projects, ensuring project programmes and budgets are effectively managed.
  • Drive business growth in Scotland by proactively securing new opportunities and expanding our client base.
  • Oversee work enquiries, prepare competitive bids, and develop strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Provide strategic direction and expert guidance on complex planning and regulatory matters.
  • Act as the primary client liaison, ensuring projects meet client expectations, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and support Senior and Junior Planners while building and strengthening the team as the business grows.
  • You will act as a primary client liaison, ensuring that projects meet the client’s requirements and timelines as well as any regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of planning and energy policies and best practices in Scotland and the UK. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Senior Town Planning role with a strong background in onshore or offshore wind energy. 
  • A track record of successfully managing a variety of planning applications across the onshore or offshore wind sectors. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Scotland’s and the UK’s planning legislation and regulatory requirements. 
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. 
  • Very strong business development acumen to help grow the business in Scotland. 
  • Chartered Member of the RTPI. 
  • A full UK driving license.
