Telecom Planning Success: Nationwide Project with Eir Mobile

Overview

During the last quarter of 2020 and throughout 2021, Entrust has been providing a range of planning-related services on behalf of Eir Mobile. By the third quarter of 2021, Entrust has undertaken surveys on more than 100 sites right across Ireland, submitted over 30 planning applications, and a number of Section 5 Declarations for Exempt Development Requests, with an excellent success rate.

Factors Contributing to Success

Entrust’s success was attributed to two main factors: comprehensive pre-application engagement and the quality of the planning application submission.

Pre-Application Engagement

Engagement with the local community, Planning Authority, and various public bodies played a crucial role in expediting the planning process.

High-Quality Planning Application

The planning application submission included a large number of environmental reports, a cumulative 3D model of the solar farm, and integration with adjacent infrastructure, such as a motorway, two previously consented solar farms, and an in-house wind farm.

Comprehensive Planning Solutions

Entrust provided end-to-end planning application solutions, ranging from feasibility studies to project management, and offered a variety of environmental specialisms both in-house and through expert consultants.
